Retreats in our historic Rectory
For many years the historic 131 year old rectory of the Blessed Sacrament Mission Church in Elk has served as a retreat location for priests, deacons and religious of the Diocese of Santa Rosa, and, indeed, beyond as well. From the back yard of the church and rectory there is an absolutely awesome view of the Pacific Ocean. It’s a perfect place to meditate with the sounds of the sea and the birds in the background – or to just gaze out over sea stacks and the ocean and enjoy its ever changing beauty.
Members of the Blessed Sacrament community have worked very hard to preserve this historic building constructed about 1886. The rectory has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a large kitchen, dining room and two sitting rooms. Linens and bedding are provided. It is an ideal place to spend a few quiet days in meditation and relaxation and we are certain you will find the experience energizing and uplifting. See comments below from some of our guests.
To reserve the rectory you may contact Dorothy Cong at (707) 877-3275 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. She will provide you with the necessary form to reserve the rectory and answer any questions you may have. Bear in mind the rectory is only for the use of priests, deacons and religious. Family members, however, may accompany them.
Priests, Deacons and Religious from outside the Diocese of Santa Rosa are most welcome to stay in the rectory as well. However, please send a Letter of Suitability signed by your Bishop or Provincial to : Bishop Robert F. Vasa, P.O. Box 1297, Santa Rosa, CA 95402 and a copy along with this the registration form to Blessed Sacrament Mission, P.O. Box 28, Elk, CA 95432 or email the completed documents to email@example.com.
